1. Preaching Series - This Sunday we are continuing our preaching series entitled, Ashes to Fire, which we are doing in conjunction with Belleview UMC. Ashes to Fire is an intentional journey with Jesus from Ash Wednesday through Holy Week and Easter and on to Pentecost Sunday - from penitence to praise to power. This Sunday we will look at the meaning and importance of what happens at a simple gathering of Jesus and his friends, based upon John 12:1-8. I pray this time of reflection will be one that will draw you deeper into your faith journey as we look to the life of Christ and example of love that he modeled for us. I encourage you to invite a friend and I hope to see you there!
2. Easter Tableau - Our Annual Easter Tableau, our gift to this community, is right around the corner. On Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 29, we will give the people of Ocala the opportunity to witness and relive for themselves the last week of Christ's life here on Earth. In order to make this a reality, we need your help. There are sign-up sheets on the Connection Station for you to volunteer in a myriad of ways. You can volunteer for things such as portraying a character in one of the scenes, to scene set-up, costumes, make-up, sound, or lighting. We still have many places for willing hands and we need yours! Please be in prayer for a successful 2013 Easter Tableau. If you have any questions, please contact Eunice Reid. Thank You!
3. Bible Study - We are concluding our Lenten Bible Study, 24 Hours That Changed the World, next Thursday as we look to Christ as Victor! We will meet at 10 A.M. and 7 P.M., you can pick either class to attend, and even if you have not come to any of the other sessions, you can still come to this one. I hope to see you there!
4. UMW Community Program - On Tuesday, March 19th, our United Methodist Women will host a program entitled, “MetroCrime Prevention”. They are bringing in a guest speaker to discuss Caller ID scams, Medicare Fraud, Grandchildren Scams and Identity Theft. Everyone is invited, so bring a friend and I hope you all can make it!
5. Sisterhood/Brotherhood - This Sunday, March 17, our congregation has been invited to Sisterhood and Brotherhood Outreach Ministries for an "Appreciation Service" for Pastor Alice Faison. The service is at 4pm and their campus is located at 903 NE Osceola Avenue, 34470. The partnership between this congregation and ours has done so much for so many and God has done a mighty work through us both. If you are available, I know they would love for you to come and be a part of this special time. My family and I are attending and I hope to see you all there!
